Weaving squares!

Here's the weaving pics! I bought these on eBay! Just under $25 incl postage from USA! It's vintage and REALLY sturdy material! It's not made like these anymore. The new weaving looms are mostly made of plastic and the metal ones are quite expensive!

Anyway, this eBay deal came with 2 looms! 7" and 4" ones. Here's the box it came in:



Here's what I did on my first try. It's abit crap n my crochet skills are almost non-existant like my spelling skills! :P





I find that using a chopstick to hold up the threads that I need to weave above or under really helped! And... Here's the finished weaved square!





The above finished 7" square can be used as a pot holder or make more squares and see them together to make a blanket! Winters coming!!!

Here's what I did on the 4" loom...





I couldn't find the hook in spotlight so I made this one for the 4" loom with a wire hanger! And here's the finished square...





Just make another 20 and I think I'll have enough for a scarf! Hmmm... It's really time consuming but it's kinda addictive too!

Gosh.. I don't know how long I'll take but hopefully i'm able to complete something for winter :)

iPhone blogging test

I've just downloaded blogpress on the iPhone. Trying out the app here (obviously!)
and see if it really works well so I can continue blogging whilst I'm travelling to Brunei Singapore and Bali in May!

Ok here's a pic of last nights fancy dress party! It's only of my 1960s inspired mod look. I forgot my camera! So once my friends post the pics on facebook, I'll load one here!



What I've used:
- mac studio moisture fix lotion & two faced shadow insurance to prime first
- brushed mac medium mineralized skinfinish all over face
- then estee lauder gel & mac's soba on eyebrows
- then colour whole crease with a white eyepencil and I packed on the shadow with mac white frost
- followed by brushing just above the crease with mac scene & lightly line with mac carbon & dazzlelight to highlight above that
- then I've put on mac hello kitty lashes! (love it!)
- finally line the eyes to finish with face shop liquid liner

Hope you'll try it! It looks weird at first but I've come to like it and will use this look again! It gives you 'bigger eyes' as it creates an illusion of a false crease :)

Ps: I've successfully weaved squares! Will post my attemps and success soon!

Also... I am going to have nightmares now! I took Dennis' advice and bought the 2009 calorie, fat & carbohydrate counter book. Gosh,.. did you know that ONE original recipe chicken breast from KFC is 250 calories? OMG! I was at gym this morning and that 250 calories was approximately 30 minutes on the threadmill doing a combination of walking and running!

But i guess it's good that i am aware of what i'm putting in my mouth from now on! Thanks Dennis! ;)
